Green tea face mask – it’s homemade!
Today I am excited to share my experience of using home made green tea face mask. In Japan, green tea soaps are sold and I knew that our green tea powder is also good to apply on the skin. I googled it and found some websites which are showing how to make it. I was so excited to start the face mask when I learned the benefits of it…like oh this is what I was looking for!!!!!
<<Benefit of Green tea face mask>>
- Anti-aging
- Prevents and treats acne and pimples
- Prevents wrinkles and removes small lines
- Prevents pigmentation
- Reduces Puffy Eyes and Dark Circles
When I was pregnant with the 3rd one, I got pigmentation on my forehead and I am desparte to remove it. I tend to get acnes when I pig out on junk food (I am healthy eater but I crave for crisps and chocolates…) and most of all, I want to stay look young like most women want!!!
It is super easy to prepare it. Whenever I buy beauty products, I always end up not using everything because I cannot continue but with this home made green tea mask, I am not wasting since I can make one when I need it.
Here is the recipe! Our Japanese Organic Sencha green tea powder is ideal for this face mask since Sencha is loaded with catechins which has anti inflammatory and antibacterial property and rich in Vitamin C. It can also work with Matcha green tea powder but Sencha has more catechins than Matcha.
Green tea face mask recipe – you can use it for 1 or 2 times
<<Ingredients>>
- 1 teaspoon of Japanese Organic Sencha green tea powder
- 2 teaspoons of flour (flour acts as moisturiser)
- 2 teaspoon of mineral water
You can also add 1 teaspoon of honey for removing blackheads and moisturises more. If you use organic flour and organic honey, it will become a very inexpensive organic face mask!
<<Directions>>
Mix everything in a small bowl. Add a bit more water until the mixture becomes paste so that you can spread it on your face.
After applying it, leave it for 5-10 minutes until they become dry (not totally dry but before drying up) and rince it with warm water.
If you have some left, cover it and it can stay in the fridge for one week.
You can apply it twice a week.
I have posted this green tea face mask on our instagram and I got a feedback from a friend that one could use oat flour since oats have anti inflammatory properties.
I started to use this green tea face mask since the end of February so around 3 months passed. The pigmentation on my forehead hasn’t gone yet totally, however after applying and rinsing, I absolutely feel very clean and soft like after you receive facial at a spa. The puffiness of the face is also reduced and I rarely get acne even after eating unhealthy food. I also drink Sencha and Matcha regularly and I make sure I drink Sencha after I eat unhealthy stuff to compensate :p
Note: I have no allergy on green tea or flour but you might do. So apply a bit on your hand before to be sure.
