Japanese Hina Dolls

The dolls are called ‘Hina’ because it is made for the girl’s festival in Japan called ‘Hina Matsuri’ in March.  Check out my blog post of Japan’s girls day from here.

They are small versions of Hina dolls made from Chirimen fabric.  Chirimen is a traditional Japanese fabric.  In English it is called crepe textile. 

The set includes the wooden stand and 屏風 Byobu – the folding screen at the back.

The dolls have round heads and beautiful colourful Kimono – cute and pretty!
