Banko-yaki Japanese Rice bowl

萬古焼 Banko-yaki is a type of Japanese pottery traditionally from Yokkaichi, Mie in Japan.

This kiln “藍窯 Aigama” specializes the colour of “Ai – Indigo”, which is the representative color of cotton and the color of Gosu (zaffer).

Gosu is one of the coloring materials for ceramics, and reflects the producer’s desire to incorporate the feeling of cotton into everyday vessels.
