Vintage Donguri (Acorn) Wooden Dolls

This charming pair of vintage wooden dolls is inspired by the shape of どんぐり (Donguri), the Japanese word for acorn.

The unique design features removable acorn tops, with the base resembling the acorn’s cup.

While these dolls show some light scratches and signs of age, they are a rare and delightful find for collectors.

These special pieces come from the personal collection of the j-okini owner’s grandfather (1919-1998) and have been carefully preserved since the 1990s.

It’s believed they were originally purchased near Mount Daisen, one of the highest mountains in Tottori Prefecture, Japan.
