It’s been a year since we have started j-okini and this year we have attended two fairs at Corinthia Palace in Balzan, Malta. Corinthia Palace is a classic and elegant European style hotel and it’s one of my favorite hotels in Malta. It’s a fundraising fair of Beyond the moon and the fund goes for seriously-ill children.
Over all it was nice experience to work with very helpful and organized hotel staff where we had fair and also interact with the neighbors who were selling their products next to us.
Most of all it was nice to actually face customers and talk about our products and communicate with them. It’s something we cannot do when we have an online shop and it was a great experience. Even people who did not buy stated how nice our silk scarves, and that made us smile 🙂 There were also some customers who told us how much they like Japan and they gave us some insights too.
We also saw how the other sellers display their products very attractive and we learned from it because we have to improve on it.
For this Christmas fair, my 11-year-old daughter also helped us at the stand. She really enjoyed interacting with customers. She was explaining our products in Maltese because I cannot talk.
We have some more products in mind to bring from Japan and we are looking forward to introducing to Maltese and European people 🙂
