Handmade Kimono Silk Scarf | Mejiro

This is a handmade Silk Scarf made from authentic Kimono specifically 振袖 Furisode.

Furisode is a style of kimono distinguishable by its long sleeves and they are worn on a special occasion such as ‘Coming of Age ceremony’ or wedding (married women do not wear Furisode).

Therefore it is like wearing a Furisode around your neck.  It’s quite appealing!

Every scarf is very unique and double sided.

This scarf features Sakura in white and pink all over and a colorful Mejiro (white eye).

The base colour is light grey and the back fabric is a special woven Chirimen (crepe) fabric in light pink with Shibori dying technique.

It is also nice to use the back side for an occasion and is wide enough to cover your shoulders.
