This is a contemporary Japanese sake set with two traditional patterns on the same tone of colour, so it may correspond with a modern dining room.
青海波 Seigaiha (wave pattern) – This is popular prosperous Japanese pattern
市松 Ichimatsu (checked pattern) – It also has the meaning of prosperity, as the pattern continues without interruption.
The tall sake cups are stylish.
Two of the sides of the sake bottle have dents to help the server hold the bottle more comfortably.
This sake set is produced in Mino, Gifu prefecture of Japan. Mino ware is one of the traditional Japanese crafts, which is carefully crafted using traditional methods that have been handed down from ancient times.
Furoshiki are Japanese traditional wrapping cloths. It is an eco-friendly gift wrapping; the receiver can re-use it to use it as a table cloth or Furoshiki bag (make a bag with knots without sewing).
