Oribe Nagashi Dobin Teapot

Mino ware is one of the traditional Japanese crafts, which is carefully crafted using traditional methods that have been handed down from ancient times.

There are 15 types of Mino ware designated as traditional crafts, and the highlights are the pale color, the texture of the soft material, and the finish of the glaze.

Oribe Nagashi Dobin Teapot

Kyusu 急須 is a Japanese teapot with a handle on the side of teapot.  Dobin 土瓶 is also a Japanese teapot but the handle is fixed on the top of the teapot.

Oribe-nagashi is to take the glaze in a container such as Hisyaku 柄杓 (a dipper) and pour it into the pottery work.

As for this teapot, the green glaze is used for this method.

The flat figure with the beautiful green glaze on a wabi-sabi brown colour make this teapot so unique!
