Sakura tea (Sakuracha) is a Cherry blossoms tea which is normally enjoyed at a wedding or on New year celebration in Japan.

It is a Japanese infusion created by steeping pickled cherry blossoms with boiled water.

Since this Sakuracha comes in a container, the flowers are not squashed and well preserved.

The brand ‘Nishiri’ is a long-established pickle shop in Kyoto.

You can also use this product for Sakura Rice or Sakura soup (photo).

Sakura Tea (Sakuracha) 50g

Instructions:

Take one or two bunches of cherry blossoms after removing some salt on the flower, pour about 150ml of hot water, and enjoy.

This product is salted, so if you add too much, the taste of salt will become strong.

If you still feel that the salt is too strong, soak it in warm water for about 5 minutes to remove the salt, then pour hot water over it.

Keep in a cool, dry and dark place.   Avoid humidity, heat and direct sunlight.
