Tsuru is a Japanese crane bird. This Matcha bowl is designed with two symbols of Japan; Tsuru and Mount. Fuji, which is often used as auspicious design. Two Tsuru are traced in gold and shine of sky is pasted with some gold glitters.
Inside the bowl a pine tree is also painted. A pine tree represents longevity and good fortune.
The price is reduced due to two small cracks as shown in the last photo.
清水焼 (Kiyomizu-yaki) Kiyomizu ware is a type of Kyō ware traditionally from Gojōzaka district near Kiyomizu Temple, in Kyoto.
The history of Kiyomizu ware dates back to the 16th century.
田中香泉 Tanaka Kosen was born in Kyoto in 1958.
He built an independent kiln in 1986.
In 2005, he exhibited modern Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki at the Paris exhibition.
He also received many awards.
There is a stamp of 香泉 Kosen at the back of the bowl.
