Vintage Yunomi Teacup Gohonte

This teacup features beautiful orangish circles around the cups.  This is called Gohonte and the circles appear during firing in high temperature.

The iron content of the pottery clay has changed in the kiln, and unexpected (interesting) orange colors and speckled patterns have appeared due to the condition of the flame or the substance in the glaze.

We found these cups in Kyoto.

The price is per cup and 5 cups are available but the glaze are slightly different from one to another.
